NICO Insurance Zambia Limited was incorporated on 26 June 1997, to offer General Insurance Services (Also known as Short-Term Insurance). The company commenced operations on1November 1997 under The Insurance Act No. 27 of 1997, supervised by the Pension and Insurance Authority of Zambia.
